In his early years, Hugo Stuven worked as a production assistant, stage manager or assistant director in film, before making the big leap to directing commercials, music videos or behind-the-scenes reels.
In 2014, he wrote and directed his debut feature film “ANOMALOUS“, a haunting psychological thriller shot in English between New York and Barcelona. The film has received numerous awards in New York, Houston, Chile, Brazil, Mexico and Spain.
His second feature film, “SOLO” (2018), stars Alain Hernandez and Aura Garrido. It chronicles a survival drama based on a true story and shot in its entirety on the island of Fuerteventura. “SOLO” had its world Premiere at the 21st Malaga Film Festival. Distributed by FILMAX for commercial theaters, the film has received wide international acclaim following its premiere on NETFLIX.
In October 2020, Hugo premiered “THE CHALLENGE“, the first original documentary series from AMAZON PRIME VIDEO in Spain.
